Vivid Festival: Sydney Opera House Sails

A little over a week ago, this years Vivid Sydney Festival kicked off in earnest. If you’re not familiar with the event, Vivid is a celebration of Light, Music and Idea’s and has become an annual phenomenon that attracts 800,000+ visitors to the city. The centrepiece of the festival would have to be the light projections that transform many of Sydney’s landmark buildings into wonderful and surreal canvasses of colour and movement. According to the Vivid website, this years Sydney Opera House light show was created by ’59 Productions’ and takes viewers on a journey through time, art, architecture and human achievement. The shots in this post don’t really capture the storyline as its a flowing animation that runs for some 12 minutes.
